If you're new to using shampoo bars (which are amazing for dreadlocks!), you'll want to make sure you use a vinegar rinse. A vinegar rinse helps "newbies" adjust to shampoo bars by removing any soapy build up. It usually takes 2 weeks for you to get used to using shampoo bars rather than liquid shampoo (although I make that too! Click here for the liquid shampoo). For the seasoned shampoo bar users, a vinegar rinse once and a while is a great way to give you shine, less tangles, and a healthier scalp. To make a vinegar rinse, add 1 cup vinegar to 2 cups warm water, add a a drop of essential oil if you like, and work into hair. Don't worry, you'll smell like vinegar but ONLY until your hair dries! After it dries, no more vinegar smell! You can rinse out the vinegar rinse mix or you can leave it in! The benefits of leaving it in is that you'll have less tangles and helps if you have an itchy scalp!
